Terms of Service

Welcome to BlogHost ("BlogHost," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of bloghost.co and any journal site created through our service (each a "Journal," collectively the "Service"). By creating an account or subscribing to BlogHost, you agree to these Terms.

1. What BlogHost Provides

BlogHost is a hosted journal/blog platform that lets you create a private, easy-to-share website (a "Journal") for documenting trips, milestones, and family updates, and optionally notify friends and family by SMS text message when you publish a new post.

2. Your Account

You must provide accurate information when signing up. You are responsible for keeping your admin password confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Each subscription entitles you to one Journal unless otherwise stated at signup.

3. Acceptable Use

These rules apply to all content on your Journal, including posts, photos, and any comments or replies left by visitors. You agree not to use your Journal to post or share:

• Adult, sexually explicit, or obscene content
• Content that harasses, threatens, or defames any person
• Illegal content, or content that promotes illegal activity
• Spam, unsolicited advertising, or malicious code
• Content that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights

We do not actively monitor or pre-screen the content of Journals. If we become aware of a violation of these rules — whether through a report from you, a recipient, or otherwise — we will investigate and may remove content, suspend, or permanently cancel the account at our sole discretion, with or without prior notice.

4. SMS Notifications

If you choose to enable SMS notifications for your Journal, the following applies:

• Phone numbers you add to your notification list do not receive SMS messages automatically. A recipient's number becomes active for SMS notifications only after that recipient confirms their own opt-in through a checkbox shown on your Journal.
• As the account holder, you can only add a phone number for a recipient after they've visited your Journal at least once, which creates their entry in your admin panel. By that point, you'll already be able to see whether they've opted in — adding a phone number never sends messages on its own; only the recipient's own confirmed opt-in does.
• Recipients may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by asking you to remove them, which you can do from your admin panel.
• Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency depends on how often you publish new posts.
• BlogHost is not responsible for delivery delays or failures caused by carriers or recipient devices.

5. Subscription, Billing, and Cancellation

• BlogHost is billed at $15/month per Journal, charged on a recurring basis until cancelled.
• You may cancel at any time from your account portal; cancellation stops future billing but does not retroactively refund the current billing period. This applies to our monthly subscription plan. If we offer an annual plan in the future, cancellation of that plan may be eligible for a prorated refund of the unused portion, as described at the time of purchase.
• Upon cancellation, your Journal and its content are retained for 90 days, after which they are permanently deleted. You may request an export of your content during this period.
• We reserve the right to cancel your subscription for violations of these Terms, in which case the same 90-day retention policy applies unless the violation involves illegal content, which may be removed immediately.

6. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of the content you post to your Journal. By posting content, you grant BlogHost a limited license to store, host, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service for you and the people you've shared your Journal with.

7. Content Responsibility and Limitation of Liability

You are solely responsible for all content posted to your Journal — including posts and comments made by you, anyone you invite to contribute, and any visitor who leaves a comment or reply on your Journal (together, "Journal Content"). BlogHost does not pre-screen, actively monitor, or endorse Journal Content, and has no obligation to do so. We act on Journal Content only when we become aware of a potential violation of these Terms or applicable law, as described in Section 3.

BlogHost is provided "as is." We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, BlogHost is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service — including temporary downtime, loss of content, or claims arising from Journal Content — though we do maintain regular backups as described in our Safety System.

You agree to indemnify and hold BlogHost harmless from any claim, damage, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Journal Content, or from your use of the Service in violation of these Terms.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be noted with an updated "Last updated" date above.
